1981 - CAVEMAN, is a very silly comedy about a caveman

Lots of stupid jokes about cavemen in what is basically a silent comedy, since everyone has a very limited vocabulary.

The director/writer Carl Gottlieb probably milks this situation about as well as anyone can.  We get jokes about the discovery of fire, chiropractic adjustments, frying large eggs, getting high and lots of silly sex jokes.

Probably the only really good parts of this film are the stop motion segments with the dinosaurs which are extremely well done.

Caveman really needed a Buster Keaton in his prime to carry out the visual jokes.  Carl Gottlieb's film technique is about as primitive as the setting of his film.

91 minutes.
