1974 - GOLD aka The Great Gold Conspiracy, it's got Roger Moore.

Roger Moore is tough guy miner Rod Slater although he's still Roger Moore who has to stop a conspiracy of bankers who want to raise the price of gold by destroying the mine he is working in.

Most of the production team is made up of people who have worked on the 1970's James Bond films, it sort of looks like a Bond film.  The action scenes and editing are entertaining, what slows things down is the love story between Roger Moore and Susannah York which they spend entirely too much time on.

Roger Moore was Roger Moore in every film he was ever in.  He is a comfortable presence, you know you can rely on Roger Moore.  Apparently Roger Moore was a favorite of the James Bond producers, he never made trouble on the set, had a pretty good sense of humor and liked to play poker with the producers.

Entertaining adventure film.

120 minutes.
