E-Mail from my brother out East: > Date: Sun, 26 Apr 2009 09:40:53 -0400 > From: xxxxxxx@xxxxxxxx > Subject: EL TOPO > To: duganxxxxx@xxxxx > > You can skip this one, really. Interesting for about 20 min. Moved > really slow and was 2 hours long. I finally ran it at 11/4 speed in > QT pro just to move it along a bit. Like a poor mans Leone. Maybe > everyone was on acid back when it was on the midnight movie circuit. My reply Figures that El Topo guy would be overrated, I have a copy of "The Magic Mountain" but I've been putting off watching it for a long time. Evan, John and I ran in a 5K race on Saturday, it was down by the Mississippi River and although it was kind of a cool morning it was a pretty run. I made Marilynn watch "Dead of Night" Saturday evening which is supposedly a British Horror classic, it was pretty dated but I would have to say that "The Twilight Zone" must have got some of their story ideas from the film although I would say that Rod Serling probably did a better job presenting them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_of_Night#Plot Watched a Truffaut movie "The Wild Child" which I haven't seen in a while I liked it a lot and it was only 80 minutes long.
