1965 - THE SATAN BUG, a decent Alistair MacLean thriller.

The director John Sturges tries to do a Hitchcock like thriller and it's not bad.  The film plays to the strengths of Sturges, shooting actors against scenic desert locations near Palm Springs.  Sturges also knew how to direct and edit action scenes he was one of the top studio action directors in the early to mid 1960's.

The cast in this film is a little low rent, George Maharis, Anne Francis, Dana Andrews and Richard Basehart aren't exactly big box office draws but they do bring a little verisimilitude to the story.

114 minutes.
